A Sweet Sunny Day in the South

tag1114 | 20 October, 2007 22:32

What a delightful Saturday!  The sun was out but the fall chill was still present.  I had my windows open, ceiling fans going and oh how that breeze made the house feel all new.  I love the smell that wafts through the house when the windows are open.  I love looking out the windows and seeing the beautiful fall colors.  Around my area, the leaves are deep red, bright orange, slightly golden with a hint of green left on a few.  Beautiful, refreshing is what comes to mind as I look around.  Driving home from school a few days ago, my oldest daughter commented about the colors on the trees.  I honestly believe it's the first time she's noticed the change.  As I looked at her in my rear view mirror, I see her pointing and staring intently at the leaves, the changes in the colors.  Just a week ago, they were still green.  Our weather has been very unpredictable lately.  We've had days that felt like summer was starting again.  It made it necessary to have the air conditioner going.  And then we had perfect-to-me days where the mornings have a slight chill, the days are tolerable without air and the nights are back to cool.  We've had some rain, some storms, some tornado watches.  But today....oh my, the sun was just right, the temperature was just perfect and the beauty of the day, having spent it with my girls, leisurely cleaning, doing laundry and watching some Halloween movies, well, today has left me feeling rejuvenated!  I just love days like this~~
